The Lost Garden addresses the urbanization and industrialization of the natural environment in many capital cities like Tehran. Some gardens dating back centuries in Iran, known as “baghs,” were once symbols of gatherings. But many have been lost to time, destroyed by skyscraper construction or abandoned due to drought, individuals profiting, political instability, and mismanagement of the city.
