In this series, “My Ziggurat,” I reform and reshape borders while referencing historical monuments and memories from spaces and land that I have physically been to. I transform these routes into monumental forms based on the outlines of my paths to represent topography in the digital age. The abstracted natural imagery is printed on leftover layers with textures from the actual locations. These printed images transform perceptions of the natural environment in the new media age. I am interested in how technology shapes memory through digital archiving, turning invisible routes that exist as memories into actual objects in abstract form. Are there any limitations? How will the history of a place exist in the future?
